Parent Bulletin 22.11.19
This week
Our production of Beauty and the Beast took place over three nights this week. There were high hopes it would match last year’s Les Miserables and despite having just nine weeks to prepare, the show more than lived up to expectations. A large cast of students from Years 7 to Year 13 gave brilliant performances on stage, accompanied by a very strong orchestra. It was a real team effort with everyone working together to give their best. All who attended were treated to a brilliant evening of entertainment. We would like to thank all the students and staff that made the production so successful and wish them a restful weekend as they must be very tired.

With the production sadly over, the Hall has now been set up ready for Year 11 to begin their mock examinations which take place over the next two weeks. We wish them all the best for the mocks. The results will be given out in a ceremony which will take place when we return after Christmas.
Bromcom / Mychildatschool
Overall, the trial of the parents’ evening booking system went very well and we plan to use this with the next parents’ evenings, the first of which is Year 11 on Thursday, 16th January. A separate email to parents/carers will be sent with details.
Planners/homework
We are still awaiting delivery of the new planners. We expect them any day soon. Regardless of this, and once they arrive, we will continue on our journey for homework is set through the Bromcom system.
Reading books and equipment
It has long been a Darrick Wood policy that all pupils must attend school with the correct equipment and with a reading book. Please check that your child has both of these and that they are not disadvantaged at the start of a lesson because they do not have the appropriate equipment to learn well.
