Latest news

As we returned from the half-term break the public examinations resumed. You may recall that over the past few weeks, the venue used for most examinations, our Main Hall, had problems with its lighting, which was failing and temporary lights had to be installed. Thankfully, over the break we were able to appoint a team who worked around the clock to replace the ageing system with new LED lights just in time for examinations to resume on Monday. Both the Hall and the Dance Studio next door now have lights that should serve us well for years to come as well as being more environmentally friendly. We are grateful to parents who recently made additional voluntary contributions to support this need.

New lights in Main Hall

At lunchtime today, students and staff involved with DWSAudio were honoured to be visited by Jonathan Banatvala, Artistic Director of the UK International Radio Drama Festival. Parents/carers may recall that one of the group’s short pieces won an award at this year’s festival. Jonathan spoke to the students about their work with audio drama and also what it took to win the award. He presented a cheque for £750 to the School to help develop this exciting new venture further.

Homework for parents

In the 17.05.19 Parent Bulletin we warned you we would be setting all parents/carers some homework. Don’t panic you have not missed it and will not be in detention. It will be set next week and we are expecting 100% completion!
