Latest news

We welcomed back students and staff this week and hope they had a good rest over the Easter break, ready for what is always a busy term. We somehow managed to dodge the rain for the Year 13 and Year 11 photographs on Wednesday and it remained dry for the annual staff photo also. The serious matter of preparation for public examinations now begins and the internal examination season begins next week with Year 10 and then examinations in core subjects for Year 9.

The Geography trip to Iceland was again a big success and the School’s first trip to China lived up to expectations. Apart from seeing all the usual tourist attractions such as the Great Wall, the party also spent 3 days in our partner school, Nanya in Hunan Province, spending time with Chinese students and enjoying the very warm welcome. It will no doubt have been an experience of a lifetime. They returned with gifts from Nanya, including a vase from the Beijing Olympics and an amazing painting which we will put on display.

Thank you to parents of Year 7 who attended parents’ evening this week and to parents of Year 12 who attended the Higher Education evening. We hope you found these helpful.
