On the 3rd May four Year 12 students completed their Celebration and Assessment Day as part of a six-month engineering project they have been working on with the Engineering Education Scheme. The students presented their project ‘The Taming of the Drone’; in which they researched the potential implementation of a drone café and presented this concept to a panel of assessors. The students worked with two engineering mentors from the engineering training provider IPS International throughout the six-months, developing their understanding of how to work as a team to develop their concept. In this project they produced a display board, lab report, PowerPoint presentation, and even a working prototype drone! The students are currently compiling their work in order to submit it and earn a Crest Gold award, a highly sought after qualification for budding engineers.
