Year 11 and 12 pupils and students from Darrick Wood School received a taste of university life during a series of careers workshops hosted on Tuesday, 3rd October.
During the interactive workshops, students received advice on the different types of higher education courses available, university fees and finance, the university application timeline, and the importance of students making future subject choices with university in mind.
The sessions were facilitated by UniTasterDays, who deliver motivational university talks for schools throughout the UK.
Jon Cheek from UniTasterDays commented “The Darrick Wood students were a delight to work with, and they engaged tremendously well with the activities during the day. Our sessions are designed to ensure the students make informed higher education decisions in the future and it is great to be working with them as part of their decision making process”.
