Parent Bulletin 06.11.20
This week
Having welcomed our students back from the half-term break, we continue to do all we can to provide the best education in these challenging circumstances and adapt our arrangements as necessary. I draw your attention to various emails through this week, one of which mentions a change to the end of the school day from Monday, 9th November. The following times will apply:
Years 7&8 – leave 3pm
Years 9&10 – leave 3.05pm
Years 11, 12&13 – leave 3.10pm
I also draw your attention to the email asking parents/carers to complete a survey regarding each child’s access to IT resources at home. We have had a massive response to this just this afternoon. If you have not yet completed it, please do so before Tuesday, 10th November. The link is here.
An email was sent to parents/carers of students in Year 11 today notifying them of our Sixth Form Virtual Open Event from Thursday, 12th November. All the information you need to find out about Darrick Wood Sixth Form will be available on our website on this date. We regret we are unable to hold our usual Open Evening.
Remembrance
On Wednesday, 11th November we will be holding a virtual Remembrance Assembly in the morning and then holding the traditional silence at 11am.
Reminder
Now the new lockdown is in place it is vital to remind students that they cannot visit each other’s houses. This means they must go straight home after school. The concept of a year group/class bubble only exists in school and is not applicable elsewhere when students must follow the current national lockdown rules.
