Generation Lockdown Writing Competition

What is the writing competition?

A writing competition for ages 7 to 17, called ‘Generation Lockdown’, has been launched offering young people the chance to write about their experiences during lockdown. Winners will be picked by authors and have their work published in a book.

Submissions can be in the format of a personal experience, a poem or a creative story and the deadline closes Friday 17th July. Find out more here:

Published pieces will appear in a John Catt Education book called ‘Generation Lockdown Writes’ and all of the sales of the book will go to the charity BookTrust.

Your parent/guardian/carer will need to help you enter online on at They need to tick the box giving permission. Teachers can’t enter on behalf of pupils.
