Darrick Wood Artists Receive National Recognition

We are delighted that three Year 12 students were chosen to exhibit at a  prestigious nationwide competition yesterday. The Mall Gallery received approximately 25,000 entries. Out of those, 340 were selected and 4 of which were chosen from Darrick Wood – a quite phenomenal achievement. Engineering Education Scheme Success

On the 3rd May four Year 12 students completed their Celebration and Assessment Day as part of a six-month engineering project they have been working on with the Engineering Education Scheme. The students presented their project ‘The Taming of the Drone’; in which they researched the potential implementation of a drone café and presented this concept to a panel of assessors. Congratulations to all who entered the 2017 Darrick Wood School Christmas Card Competition. The standard of entries was very high, and the judging panel had a very difficult task choosing the top three. Darrick Wood’s performance of “Bugsy Malone” will be held on Wednesday, 22nd November, and Thursday, 23rd November at 7.30pm in the Hall.  This is an extremely popular musical, with students across each key stage involved as performers, musicians and back stage assistants. The book fair held in the library was very successful selling £660 worth of books and other items. This enabled us to get £330 worth of free books for the library.
