What is the writing competition? A writing competition for ages 7 to 17, called ‘Generation Lockdown’, has been launched offering young people the chance to write about their experiences during lockdown. Congratulations to all Year 11 students who obtained another set of fantastic GCSE results and maintained the high standards we have come to expect. There were a number of outstanding individual performances, including three students who obtained eight or more grade 8 and 9 GCSEs. Staff and students at Darrick Wood School in Orpington are celebrating after winning an international radio drama award for one of their extra-curricular media projects. In January 2018 the school set up an audio blog to post weekly content including audio plays, short stories, original music and podcasts recorded by its pupils.
