In a year which sees the introduction of new GCSEs and a new grading system in the vast majority of subjects, Darrick Wood School pupils and staff rose to the challenge and maintained the high standards we have come to expect. It has been another fantastic year for pupils, who gained a great set of GCSE grades. There were a considerable number of outstanding individual performances. Liam Sawyer obtained a straight set of 12 grade 9s and their equivalent. Across the School, an incredible 88 grade 9 GCSEs were awarded, and many pupils achieved the top grades of 7, 8 and 9.
At GCSE, 73% of students gains a grade 4 or above in English and Maths, and 44% of students gained a grade 5 or above in English and Maths GCSE. The Attainment 8 score was 49.9 and the EBacc average points score was 4.65. 81% of students studied for the EBacc, well above the government target of 75% for 2022.
A Level results also continue to be very strong, with 49% of A Levels awarded an A*, A or B.
A huge well done to everyone involved and especially to the pupils for their results.
