Bromley Schools Cross Country

On Wednesday 15th November the Bromley Schools Cross Country Championships was held at Darrick Wood School.   Fifteen secondary schools in the Bromley Borough took park with over 60 participants in most races. The highlights of the day were the year7 girls event Victoria Fenwick came 4th, Hannah Strover came 6th, Thea Cleary came 9th and Katie Brash came 10th winning the overall team event, which was an amazing achievement. In the year 7 boys event Zak Hollingsworth came 2nd, Christopher Barrett came 5th, Jack Gloag came 27th and Benjamin Sanger came 29th coming 4th in the team event.

In the Junior Girls Amarisa Sibley came 4th, Nia Barbour came 20th, Lily-Mae Cooper 24th and Frances Cullens 33rd who made up the year8/9 team and came 5th overall. In the Junior boys the best runs of the race came from Benjamin Griffiths who came 10th and Ben Andrews who came 11th and they were supported by Robert-Kelly Graham in 13th and Oliver Charlesworth who came 20th, putting them 2nd place overall in the team event.

Finally in the Inter races Zoe White came 3rd overall in the inter girls and in the Inter boys George cooper came 8th and Sam Bennett came 9th. Darrick Wood won the overall inter boys team event with the help of Thomas Gilmore and Rhys David. All the runners who came in the top 12 will now go and represent Bromley in the Kent schools on January 20th in Dover.
