Athletics Success for Darrick Wood School

On Tuesday, 10th January the Year 7 and Year 8 Girls Indoor Athletics team took part in the Bromley Schools Indoor Athletics Championship.  Both year groups competed in a variety of track and field events and came 1st place out of 9 schools.  Although all 14 athletes showed excellent team work and came in the top 3 for the majority of the events, the best performances came from:

Year 7

Amarisa Sibley in the speed bounce, standing long jump and sprints.

Sophie Kingdom in the standing triple jump and sprints.

Alicia Okoji Adenoji in the vertical jump and relay.

Year 8

Eve Ward in the sprints and relay.

Charlotte Connelly in the sprints and relay.

Summer Bennett in the relay and 8 lap race.

Annalese Lawrence in the Relay, Standing triple jump and Standing Long jump.

Ruth Chappel in the shot.

 

All these athletes won their events.

 

As a result of the victories above, Darrick Wood School will be representing Bromley in the South East London Games.  Well done to all involved for their outstanding contributions and excellent team performance.
